Milena Sosa is an economist and public policy analyst from Peru currently pursuing her Master of Public Administration at the University of Pittsburgh's School of Public and International Affairs, with a concentration in Policy Research & Analysis. She brings over six years of experience in program evaluation, institutional diagnostics, and environmental policy, including leading performance audits of national conservation areas at Peru's Contraloría General de la República (Peru's supreme audit institution).
Her current research focuses on the economic and environmental impacts of lithium mining on river systems in Puno, Peru, sitting at the intersection of extractive industry, community development, and environmental justice. She is proficient in data analysis and applies quantitative and economic tools to complex policy challenges. Fluent in Spanish and English, Milena brings an international and community-centred perspective to environmental water protection.
