Amanda Zaner
Advocacy Fellow
Amanda Zaner is a social justice activist, researcher, and policy educator. Grounded by a passion for uplifting human rights, she is committed to fostering community engagement and advocating for collaborative approaches to clean water protection. From growing up kayaking on the Susquehanna River to attending youth climate justice conferences, Amanda has woven her life’s connection to water systems into a career dedicated to environmental justice and public accountability. She holds a Master’s degree in International Development with a focus on Human Security, and a certificate in Global Sustainable Development from the University of Pittsburgh. She also earned a BA in International Political Systems and minors in Anthropology & Religious Studies from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. A lover of all things related to artistic expression, Amanda enjoys connecting with people over Appalachian folklore, poetry, gardens, murals, and found objects. Outside of work, she’s likely to be found exploring random corners of Pittsburgh, enjoying time in one of the public parks, and wandering around a festival or farmer’s market.
