About the event
Three Rivers Waterkeeper is hosting our 3rd Volunteer Salt Watch Sampling Day on Saturday, January 31st! Volunteer with us to help collect water samples in local tributaries and waterways around Pittsburgh to measure the chloride levels. This sampling effort, known as Salt Watch, is an initiative from the Izaak Walton League of America to monitor how road salt pollution impacts local waterways.
We are looking for volunteers to sign up and sample a location from our list (you can sign up for your preferred location or suggest one to us that's not on the list!) on Saturday, January 31st. When you register, you can sign up to sample your location just one time, or commit to sponsoring your site for the year (4 samples total in one year- January, April, July, October)
Our sampling kit pickup location will be at Three Rivers Waterkeeper's office (800 Vinial Street, Suite B314, Pittsburgh,…
