Katie Duffy

Communications Manager

Katie Duffy is an environmental justice artist and advocate central to the Pittsburgh area. A graduate of Penn State Behrend, Katie has a BFA in English Literature and a minor in Political Science. During her undergraduate, she dedicated her time to working the news desk at the student paper, designing front pages and driving overall creative reform as an editor. Post grad, Katie studied Media Design Practices at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA where she began her career in freelance design, working with international startups and deepening her experience in design storytelling. Before coming to Three Rivers Waterkeeper, Katie’s love of people and animals kept her engaged in community work in Pittsburgh, from chambers of commerce and other environmental nonprofits to humane animal shelters and adult education programs. Katie leads with an empathic heart and a desire to make art accessible for everyone. When she isn’t working, she loves to paint, backpack, read international literature, and collect antiques/build custom furniture for designing interiors.
